Let’s Talk | Geoffrey & Jared |
A lightness that Jared couldn’t explain overcame his body when the Brit moved closer slightly. His heart pounded away. It was as if he’d just met the Brit again for the first time, and there was that immediate attraction. He thought about the cliche saying — “love at first sight”. Jared felt as if this was that moment. The moment where your heart literally pounds out of your chest and you feel like you could walk on air if you tried, as long as that person was there. His gaze was locked with that of Geoffrey’s, Jared hearing his own thoughts in his head screaming his true feelings, hoping that the Brit would hear them, see them through that eye contact.
He blinked before he finally pulled himself out of his own thoughts while lost in the Brit’s returned gaze. “Big huh? This friend of yours must be well off then?” he asked him, smirking. “How far away is it? You didn’t have any trouble getting here, did you?” His eyebrows furrowed only slightly, hoping their seeing each other hadn’t been too much of a hassle. When the Brit’s lips pressed against his thumb, Jared felt his breath catch and his heart skip a beat. The butterflies in his stomach more prominent than before. The softest smile came to his lips before he slowly and hesitantly leaned closer to Geoffrey.
Geoffrey smiled, nodding gently, “well-off is a way to put it, yep.” Geoffrey thought of what Trevor had told him, how money wasn’t important anymore, that all that material bullshit could simply be created, and when it was endless, it took on less importance. He had been right. The Brit scrunched his nose slightly before he shrugged. “It’s a ways out, nice an’ secluded. I quite like it,” he replied after a moment, eyes looking to Jared’s, “no trouble at all, mate. I was hangin’ ‘round ‘ere anyway.” His smile looked easy, despite how heavily his heart was pounding, and just how clammy his palms were getting, the excess energy running through him getting harder to control as his emotions began to run away with themselves. Geoffrey forced a slow inhale when Jared leaned forward, his fingertips seeming to buzz, nerves threatening to overwhelm as he felt himself lean forward too, stopping only when their lips were inches apart, faded eyes looking to Jared.
